Francesco Cossovel

Salve a tutti!! Sapete che qui a casa del coniglietto impolverato amiamo molto le curiosità. Oggi vi mostro un oggetto molto interessante che ho trovato in una libreria a Gorizia tempo fa. Si tratta della riproduzione di una pergamena sulla quale il tipografo goriziano Francesco Cossovel, nella seconda metà dell'800, scrisse l'intera Divina Commedia in micro calligrafia, senza usare alcuna lente. La storia narra che il figlioletto di Cossovel morì mentre giocava in soffitta in seguito al crollo del solaio. Lo shock per il padre fu così grande che i suoi nervi ottici subirono una dilatazione tale da permettergli di vedere il più piccolo senza usare lenti. Di qui la trascrizione della Divina Commedia.

Hello everyone!! You know that we of the DustyRabbit family really like curiosities so today I want to show you a very interesting object I found in a bookshop in Gorizia.

It is a reproduction of a parchment on which the typographer Francesco Cossovel, in the second half of the nineteenth century, wrote the entire Divine Comedy in micro calligraphy, without using any lens. The story tells that the young son of Cossovel died while playing in the attic after the collapse of the floor.

The shock was so great for the father that his optic nerves had a dilatation that allowed him to see the smallest things without using lenses.

Ovviamente anche il coniglietto impolverato ha voluto farsi misurare...risultato? Orecchie macro :)
