Krampus Night

Sicuramente molti di voi conoscono i Krampus, i diavoli che il 5 dicembre accompagnano in sfilata San Nicolò frustacchiando i bambini cattivi con delle scopette di rami, dipingendo i loro faccini di carbone e suonando terribili campanacci. La tradizione si perde nella notte dei tempi ed è tipica del Trentino-Alto Adige e di molte altre zone di lingua tedesca come la Baviera, Svizzera etc. I Krampus interagiscono con il pubblico, appendendosi alle transenne, colpendolo con rami di betulla, rendendolo elettrico già durante l'attesa del loro spettacolare arrivo. Eccovi alcune fotografie dell'orrorifica sfilata dell'anno scorso a Dobbiaco :)

Here are Krampus! These scary demons parade with Saint Nicholas every 5 december, beating naughty children with bundles of branches, painting their little faces with coal and frighten them with bells and chains. This is a very old tradition typical of Trentino-Alto Adige and many other German areas like Bavaria, Switzerland etc. Krampus interact with public, beating and being unpredictable, creating electricity trough the people.

Getting ready for Christmas!!

Qui a casa del coniglietto impolverato ci stiamo preparando per Natale e c'è addirittura più caos del solito :)

Il coniglietto è supercoccoloso e ha già il suo bel pelo invernale anche se il freddo tarda ad arrivare...

Here at the DustyRabbit home we're preparing for Christmas and there's even more chaos than usual :)

The little rabbit is super fluffy and she has her winter coat on, even if is not so cold yet...

Ok...ma dove sono finite le mie orecchie??

And then a little tree of felted wool...

E un alberino decorato con gli addobbi rustici realizzati con la mia solita amata pasta di cannella e succo di mela.

And a tree decorated with some stars and gingerbreadmen made of my usual and beloved cinnamon dough.

Friends from the Woods

Ciao a tutti, eccovi qualche amico del Carso, alcuni in macro fotografia...

Hello, look at these friends from Carso, some of them in macro photography...

 Questa è una rarità :) purtroppo siamo riusciti a scattarle una sola foto, perchè si è rifugiata subito tra le rocce, ma nel frattempo l'abbiamo ammirata per bene. La vipera dal corno (vipera ammodytes) è difficile da trovare ed è la più velenosa vipera d'Italia. In ogni caso è molto timida e bellissima :)

This is a rarity :) unfortunately we took only one picture of her, because she took refuge among the rocks, but in the meantime we could admire her for good. The horned viper (vipera ammodytes) is hard to find and is the most poisonous viper of Italy. However she is very shy and beautiful :)

Cinnamon Dough Christmas Snowflakes

Vi ricordate questi fiocchi di neve che avevo realizzato tempo fa insieme alle zucchette di pasta di cannella?

Ne ho parlato in questo post. Sono semplicissimi da realizzare e si possono utilizzare per ricavarne degli addobbi per l'albero, in questo caso un albero piccolissimo :)

They are very easy to make and you can use them to decorate a Christmas tree, mine is a very small one :)

Ho aggiunto del nastro tipo tela di sacco, una stellina ruggine in cima e fissato il tutto su un carrettino di legno.

I added burlap, a rusty star on the top and glued all on a little wooden wagon.
